Biography

Andrea is a Green Business Coach, Consultant, and Trainer, as well as a Life and Business Coach.

Current Projects

Andrea is currently working as a life and business coach with a number of individual clients who are "green focused." She is also conducting a number of teleclasses- the Green Business Coaching Group and the Clean, Clear and Centered class.

She is currently the Co-Coordinator for the North Kohala Food Forum - a project that endeavors to provide a forum for communication which allows partnerships and initiatives to organically emerge to help the community meet it's stated goal of producing 50% of the food it consumes.

Andrea was also recently engaged as the Coordinator/Facilitator for the Varroa MIte Steering Committee, a multi-stakeholder group of beekeepers, government, academia, and agricultural interests that has formed to help address the imminent threat of the varroa mite to bee colonies.

Andrea just completed a project for a client examining the feasibility of an Avocado Oil Mill.

Andrea recently conducted a sustainability strategic planning workshops based on The Natural Step Framework for Volcano Island Honey Company.

Background

Andrea deepened her knowledge in the area of sustainable business as Business & Sustainability Manager at Volcano Island Honey Company, a triple bottom line company committed to balancing social, environmental, and financial business strategy. Andrea managed the day-to-day needs of the business including; inventory, scheduling, production planning, customer service, communications, insurance, media, farm visits and grants. She was also tasked with the development of diversified products and the implementation of social and environmental initiatives. Andrea is currently managing projects focused on triple bottom line business strategy and communications for Volcano Island Honey Company.

As a consultant, Andrea has managed business projects and a number of high profile community education initiatives. A skilled communicator, manager, and facilitator, her client list has included: Hawaii Island Economic Development Board, Maui Film Festival, Waimea Community Development Plan Committee, and the Kona Earth Festival.

Andrea has been a speaker at the Kuleana Business Conference and Trade Show, Hawaii Island Food Summit, Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce Environmental Conference, Kohala Trash Bash, The Greatest Show Off Earth at the Kahilu Theater, Waimea Rotary, Waimea Middle School, Hawaii Preparatory Academy Student Congress on Sustainability, and many other school, business and community events.

A believer in the importance of community involvement, Andrea is a former member the Board of Directors of the League of Women Voters of Hawaii County, founding Chair of the Maui League of Women Voters MAL group, Democratic Party of Hawaii- President of District 1-Precinct 1, co-founder of the Kohala E-news and Slow Food Hawaii member.

Andrea holds an MBA from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She has taken certification courses in permaculture, grant writing, and coaching, and is an alumnus of Ulumau- The Hawaii Leadership Series. Andrea is dedicated to personal and planetary health and is a healthy eater, manic exerciser and local foods advocate. She likes to walk, run, hike, bike, swim, dance, camp, meditate, chant, and read. She lives with one big dog, four crazy chickens, and two avid surfers - husband Topher and son Kanoe.
